Wild Card, 2015 - Storyline:

Nick Wild (Jason Statham) is a Las Vegas bodyguard with lethal professional skills and a personal gambling problem. When a friend is beaten by a sadistic thug, Nick strikes back, only to find out the thug is the son of a powerful mob boss. Suddenly Nick is plunged into the criminal underworld, chased by enforcers and wanted by the mob. Having raised the stakes, Nick has one last play to change his fortunes...and this time, it's all or nothing. Last week was something of a busy one for trailers of big movies. You don't need us to tell you that big promos for the likes of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Jurassic World and Pan landed. However, it seems that somebody out there tried to sneak out a trailer for a new movie from The Statham, hoping we wouldn't spot it.

Here, then, is the first trailer we've seen for Wild Card. This is the film that's a remake of the film Heat. That's the Burt Reynolds movie Heat, as opposed to the Robert De Niro/Al Pacino one. Wild Card is based on the book by William Goldman, and he's penned the screenplay for the film too. It stars The Statham as a recovering gambling addict by the name of Nick Wild, who takes on protection work for his friends. And the movie reunites him with Con Air and The Expendables 2 director Simon West. It's an international trailer this one, as we still don't have a UK release for Wild Card. But it begins its worldwide roll-out in Japan and Greece next month. We just might pop over to check it out.
